i was invited by the museums' management team to be a "fixer in residence", and Identify the museums strong points, and areas of improvement for visitors, staff and the administration

the interviews, observations and prototypes resulted in an ecosystem report.


External: Visitor Experience & Positioning
Observed and interviewed visitor groups (couples, families & school groups), and interviewed staff and outside experts.
Analyzed the position of the museum within the context of recreational and cultural activities in the Randstad, Rotterdam and the Museumpark.

Outcomes:

  • Proposed & tested ways to improve the visitor experience.
  • Prototyped solutions to strengthen the connection between office and museum floor.
  • Best practices and hard-earned lessons from other non- & for profit organisations and fields.
     

Internal: Museum Technology
• Analyzed the visitor numbers, web statistics and budget.
• Collected lessons from my experience in developing digital tools and projects for the Boijmans Museum and other clients. Which resulted in:

Outcomes:

  • Defined guidelines for successful online projects.
  • Identified ways to help the staff by better implementing existing tools and increasing their digital skills.

• Observed working methods and processes
• Analyzed process and communication of research and communication projects

Outcomes:

  • Implemented quick wins to simplify common tasks
  • Identified ways to help the staff by better implementing existing tools and increasing their digital skills.
  • Called out successful projects, and recommended changes in process and communication strategies for others.
