a storytelling concept for anne frank.
The Anne Frank House is the place where Anne Frank and her family hid from the nazis during WWII. The house in Amsterdam - now a museum - draws over a million visitors a year, but the interest spans much further: Her diary is being read by millions worldwide, the story is being taught in schools and many kids write reports or give presentations about Anne's story every year. Presenting the story online is therefore a vital activity for the Anne Frank House.
With the virtual tour of the house and other websites in need of an update, the Anne Frank House asked us to create a new storytelling concept to bring all of the aspects of Anne's story together.
The goal was to develop a plan that would incorporate knowledge and experiences from the entire organisation, and to take them along on the journey. To this end, we dove into the many websites and educational programs, held customer journey workshops with representatives from all the departments and looked at webstats and survey results. The resulting storytelling concept was prototyped and tested with international visitors and visiting teachers for its effectiveness.
The first part of the proposal to be built, is a website about the diary of Anne Frank.
The rest of the storytelling world is due to launch mid 2018. It will feature a new virtual tour of the house, biographies of the people in hiding and their helpers and a contextual WWII timeline.
